WASHINGTON—Farm & Yard, a supplier of innovative animal care products, donated CozyCube™ insulated dog houses to 168 families in underserved communities throughout the U.S. with the assistance of the Humane Society of the United States.
The HSUS distributed the insulated dog houses, collectively valued at more than $125,000, to families in Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Boston and in Fargo, North Dakota. The HSUS also distributed CozyCubes to families who are members of Blackfeet Nation, the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe, Shoshone-Paiute Tribe of the Duck Valley and Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians.
Amanda Arrington, vice president of Access to Care for the Humane Society of the United States, said: “We’re grateful to Farm & Yard for this generous donation supporting our Pets for Life program and the families who love their dogs but are facing barriers in access to pet care. This resource is life-changing for dog owners—who for several reasons, including landlord restrictions, may not be able to always keep their dogs indoors—to provide shelter from the elements.”
Adam Fowler, CEO of Farm & Yard, said: "The Humane Society of the United States' dedication to supporting families in need resonates deeply with our values and mission. Partnering with them to donate our CozyCubes is an opportunity to provide a warm, safe space for dogs, while also helping families care for their pets even during tough times. We believe that keeping dogs happy, healthy and protected not only benefits the animals but also strengthens the bond within the family."
Through its access to care programs—Pets for Life and Rural Area Veterinary Services—the Humane Society of the United States has served more than 500,000 pets and their families experiencing poverty with veterinary services such as spay/neuter and wellness care at no cost to the family. In 2023 alone, the HSUS provided services to 44,600 dogs and cats across the U.S. and distributed 8.9 million pounds of pet food and 2,233 pallets of pet supplies, with a combined value of over $30 million.
