Kelly Peterson is an accomplished advocate in Oregon and has worked successfully in the Oregon legislature to pass a raft of bills to protect animals, ranging from wildlife and exotics to farm and companion animals. She also played a crucial role in banning canned hunts by the Oregon Fish and Wildlife Commission. As a native Oregonian, Peterson is grateful to be able to fight every day to protect Oregon’s animals, whether they are furry, hooved or winged. In her spare time, she co-founded Fences for Fido, an all-volunteer nonprofit that builds free fences for dogs living outside on chains.
