Kate MacFall joined the HSUS in 2012 and covers a wide breadth of animal protection issues throughout Florida as state director. Her work on companion animal issues includes puppy mills, animal shelters and dog breed bias, and she also serves on the advisory board of the Florida Association of Animal Welfare Organizations (FAAWO). MacFall has a long history of opposing greyhound racing and was the co-chair of the successful Amendment 13 campaign in 2018 to eliminate dog racing in the state. Wildlife issues are of special interest; she supports Florida black bear protection and the regulation of nonnative reptiles.
