Gabe Wigtil has served as our Arizona state director since 2021. He works with elected officials, volunteer advocates and other stakeholders to ensure that animal welfare legislation is put into place and enforced in Arizona. Previously, he worked in the HSUS's wildlife protection department, including working with Arizona advocates in 2019 to support a rule banning wildlife killing contests in the state. He grew up hiking and camping throughout southern Arizona and continues to enjoy spending time outdoors. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona.
